Hearing loss happens like with many of the senses that steadily decline with age, but it can be a little frustrating when it happens – both to the sufferer and those surrounding him or her. You might have even experienced such a thing yourself. Maybe you were arguing with grandpa about direct tv vs dish or republicans vs democrats or jazz vs rock – only to have the discussion turn into a frustrated exchange and eventually break down due to hearing loss. One of the best ways you can help a loved one cope with hearing loss is by showing them that you have an interest in their situation and are willing to help them find solutions. This can either come in the form of learning to sign or searching for medical solutions to make things easier. You can also have patience and understanding to help your loved one understand that they are not alone in this matter.
